Which Zoner would you want to meet

Category: Let's talk

Post 1 by Q (Take my advice, I'm not using it anyhow.) on Sunday, 19-Mar-2006 14:14:56

Okay, the subject line says most of it.
Please name the zoners you would want to meet, as well as the reasons why.
Remember: This is not about those you don't want to meet.
And before you ask, I am just bored, and thought that this could be some good entertainment.

Post 2 by chelslicious (like it or not, I'm gonna say what I mean. all the time.) on Sunday, 19-Mar-2006 14:29:30

ines, cuz she's an awesome friend, brooke aka weaseldance, cuz she's funny, and we're pretty close, and i'm gonna meet beautiful painter next summer, so i guess that doesn't really count.

Post 3 by PorkInCider (Wind assisted.) on Sunday, 19-Mar-2006 14:49:45

Ok Brooke, AKA Brooke, lol becuase I think she's my best friend, or at least one of them, Erin, AKA Resonant, because she's cool, and Krystel, AKA Puggle, and Cortney, AKA Torico. They're all just awesome friends, I guess there's others but these are those I want to meet the most from here.

Post 4 by Twinklestar09 (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Sunday, 19-Mar-2006 15:07:55

I think I'd want to meet Goblin, because although we are pretty different, I think he'd still be interesting to talk to. I probably wouldn't know what to say at first, but yeah. *smiles* I'd also be cool to meet Beatlegirl and Kwork, since we get along pretty good so meeting them would be cool too.

Post 5 by Texas Shawn (The cute, cuddley, little furr ball) on Sunday, 19-Mar-2006 15:49:28

Post 10 by PorkInCider (Wind assisted.) on Sunday, 19-Mar-2006 18:42:09

Well, Dan Shea, I thought you'd realise if you're supposed to be my best friends, it would go without saying that you'd be on my list, so I obviously didn't say.

Post 11 by Harp (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Sunday, 19-Mar-2006 20:43:50

well brooke's one of your best friends too and she's still on your list! don't try and riggle out of it that way sunny! hehehehe.

Post 13 by Jesse (Hmm!) on Monday, 20-Mar-2006 5:12:34

Chelsey, and Jimmy a.k.a. StoneColdDrummer316. Guys when we meet we got to go to a bar a get drunk. I don't really have anyone else that'd be worthwhile to meet on my list at the moment.

Post 22 by The Roman Battle Mask (Making great use of my Employer's time.) on Monday, 20-Mar-2006 10:29:25

I don't want to meet anyone off this site, accept for well that's right none of you fuckers, I'll continue drinking with freshmen girls and living my life in an alcoholic faug rather then turning online friends into real life friends, it's more socially acceptible anyway.

Post 23 by Perestroika (Her Swissness) on Monday, 20-Mar-2006 12:30:34

awwwe, chriss, thanks, you're pretty cool yourself.i'd actually like to meet you too.

Post 43 by Nick6489 (11 years a Zoner) on Tuesday, 21-Mar-2006 17:10:24

Westy and Caitlin come immediately to mind in the group that goes on the zone fairly regularly, as well as Liz (DizzyLizzy). FreakyFwoof, thrillseaker, and borris come to mind as well, in order of decending zone ID number in that sentence. I've met lightningcount before, though neither of us knew it until much later, so I'd actually like to meet him properly. Cortney, AKA Torico, is yet another I'd like to meet. I'd like to take CrazyMusician and Sky_Queen to an Islander game, LOL, show them some real Hockey fans.

Post 44 by Pure love (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Wednesday, 22-Mar-2006 5:53:43

Yeah I met Lightningcount too, and of course Fabolous. And of course I know Freifahrer, Ele and Eponie from my school.

Post 45 by Puggle (I love my life!) on Wednesday, 22-Mar-2006 7:47:32

Post 46 by Pure love (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Wednesday, 22-Mar-2006 8:25:04

I would want to meet brandon aka Bmisch1000 and ofcourse my #1 fan Beth because she is just totally hot.

Post 48 by jessmonsilva (Taking over the boards, one topic at a time.) on Wednesday, 22-Mar-2006 11:56:48

Yeah I agree we should all just ahve a big big convention, but since ther more americans for the convention, we should meet in the states, lol.

Post 49 by Q (Take my advice, I'm not using it anyhow.) on Wednesday, 22-Mar-2006 13:54:34

I think The States would be the obvious place to hold such a convension, as the vast majority of zoners live there.
On the other hand, where in the States would we hold such a get-together?
Some would argue that Texas is the appropriate place, some would argue that NC or Canada, or ... wherever is better. So, where would we do it?

Post 50 by jessmonsilva (Taking over the boards, one topic at a time.) on Wednesday, 22-Mar-2006 16:13:30

well definintely not canada, as that is not part of the states, probably somewhere like texas, florida, or california.

Post 51 by guitargod1 (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Wednesday, 22-Mar-2006 16:45:44

I like that idea but I'd have to suggest we meet in Las Vegas! Yeah! City of sin and all that jazz.....hehehe....

K, probably gunna miss loads out, but yeh..... Krystle at number one of course, smile. Erin, Matt aka Arcanthus, though he's too tall, hehehehhe, Danielle, Tim, which should be sometime very soon I hope, Lauren aka Lolin, Loui which i also hope is happening soon though we havent' spoken about it recently, Chris aka Westie, Christine, Kyle aka Em, CK, Cortney, the one and only GF, Kai, Mikey aka Skater MD, Leaffan, Jess, Trem, Josiph, Ines, Aaron, Pete, David, Josh aka AgentOrange and all that crew, Stacy, Barry aka dj paddy, Shea Shea the coco coco chicky, heheheheh, Nemoy, Jared, though I really am not sure why coz he's such an incurable ass hole, heheheh jk, Geoff, Jamie, Siobhan, Allie, Quinten and Carin, I've never even spoken to Carin yet, but I get on great with Quinten, he's brilliant, so if he is, she's bound to be too, Claire, Mel aka Galadriel, Beth aka wild jasmin for definite, Dawn aka Infinity, Ather, Scott, Liam just coz, sometimes we talk, sometimes we don't for no particular reason, so i'd like to see if i can work him out any better in person than I can round here, Doug tn, Charlene, Chris aka kc8zsj, Michelle sexygurl86, Herve, Richard and Melany, Graham, Hayley and Lucy. Ev aka KT, Heather, Jesse aka Kragiel, lawlord, there are a few girls that I've been chatting to on here from the UK. I dont' really know them well, but they sound like fun, they'd be Charlotte, J, and Libby, Mike aka that drunk guy or something like that, he's funny, elly and Shawn aka Dawson for a definite. Sorry if I've forgotten anyone, heheheheh.

Post 56 by Texas Shawn (The cute, cuddley, little furr ball) on Thursday, 23-Mar-2006 8:57:16

lol sugar thanks! both sugars are a deffinate on my list. I had brought up the idea before of a zone get together. It is probably highly unlikely that it would happen. but something you all might think about is if you wanted to keep the costs down staying away from the big popular places might be an idea like going to tn or somewhere a little bit out of the way, then again you would want to find somewhere with an international airport. It is a cool idea and might be worth looking in to. How about a show of hands on who might be slightly interested in doing something like this. razes hand.

Post 57 by Pink Pineapple (Veteran Zoner) on Thursday, 23-Mar-2006 9:57:06

Well first I'd like to smack cala because she has met not only poet but me in person before we even joined the zone *smacks cala* And she knew me before poet *looks hurt* Ok moving on lol. Post 59 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Thursday, 23-Mar-2006 12:43:46

To cut a seriously long story, or more to the point, a bloody long list of zoners short, I'd just like to meet a couple of old flames from my Dorton House days, Ines, Jess, Kai AKA Wraith and almost everyone in the UK (no offence meant to those people in the USA, Canada, Australia or anywhere else in the world). I'd like to meet anyone who's shown an interest in me and exchanged loads of quicknotes and messages with me since i joined The Zone 37 days ago.

Post 60 by Leafs Fan (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Thursday, 23-Mar-2006 13:26:36

We need to hold a U.K. zoners convention. You Brits keep this place really hopping, so the convention is in England. LOL It's settled. Or it's in Canada. Or the States, Jess says Texas, hmmm I wonder why? Go Jess. KFC for convention meals. LOL I love all you guys!

Post 61 by Liz (The Original) on Thursday, 23-Mar-2006 14:23:37

Hmm, who do I want to meet? I'm not too sure. There are the obvious people--or maybe not obvious, I don't know--I've already met Jimmy, AKA stonecold drummer316, (I think that's your screenname?), and he's really awesome. I've also met CommanderLaForge and night. I'd consider meeting blink183, Darren, (I don't know how to spell your username, so yay for real names...sorry, lol), I've met HeavyMegalGIrl, I know her quite well in fact--I'll leave all of you to figure that one out, but I guess I didn't exactly have a choice did I? Kidding Kathryn...it's all good. Hmm, who else? I'm not too sure, although I'll also be getting to meet blindguy in July, (definitely interesting), and I think Wildebrew as well, even though I haven't really talked to him.
I know I've left some of you out probably, like Vanja and that crew, basically anyone I've talked to either here or more likely on VT I think it would be cool to meet. If I have left people out, you're still my friends, and this is just a silly little board post, I mean nothing by it.

Post 62 by Stone Cold (Generic Zoner) on Thursday, 23-Mar-2006 19:23:24

all right, y'all win. I'll join the popularity contest. lol I'll say this, I wanna meet damn near all of you. in fact, what the hell. I wanna meet all of y'all. Everyone has their good qualities. I don't really have big problems with anyone on here. and yes, we should have a zoers get together somewhere. how about... Texas!! My state! Jimmy

Post 63 by midnight sun (you can't catch me, i'm the palobread man) on Thursday, 23-Mar-2006 22:38:40

well, there are some I would like to meet, but extreme shyness doesn't even let me say who they are... but, I agree with jimmy. there's no one of you I wouldn't want to meet, so why not, a zoners get together somewhere. even if... don't know why, something tells me I'll never met anyone of you, ehehe

Post 64 by Pure love (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Friday, 24-Mar-2006 2:37:58

Lory, I would love to meet you. Jenny and Danielle, I would love to meet you too, as well. And Jimmy. And yay for UK-zoners-conventions.

Post 66 by Leafs Fan (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Friday, 24-Mar-2006 9:37:29

Post 67 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Friday, 24-Mar-2006 10:27:55

Well I'm certainly up for the zoners convention here. i coul;dn't afford the flights if it was held abroad somewhere.

Post 68 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Friday, 24-Mar-2006 12:24:25

I say it be in Kansas, smack dab in the middle of the states... or not,

Post 69 by guitargod1 (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Friday, 24-Mar-2006 13:51:19

Is Kansas cool? i mean the band Kansas rocks so I am assumeing the state is cool too...hehehe.... I still like my vegas suggestion. Not many of you seem keen on that though... Let me ask Hue Heffner, maybe we could do it at the Playboy mansion. It was really cool the last time I went!

Post 70 by Harp (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Friday, 24-Mar-2006 16:48:47

if you were going to hold such a convention as is being suggested then you'd realisticly need to hold it near one of the major airports in the states, assuming of course that it's been agreed that the states is to be the hoast country, because you need to make things as financially fair as possible on people who wish to go who don't live in the US. of all the options open Los Angeles would seem to be the most sensible place because it is roughly between europe and australia which is where most of the non US conventionees would be coming from. if you tried to hoast such a convention else where in the states people ariving from outside the country would then be looking at tacking internal flights onto the flight into the country wich would add editional cost and, from experience, internal flights here in the US are way over priced!

that's my thoughts anyway.

Post 71 by Perestroika (Her Swissness) on Friday, 24-Mar-2006 16:50:20

yes, i've always wanted to go to texas, so, i'm in for that.

I think it would be really cool if we could hold a convention and meet somewhere. There are many Zoners whom I've written to a few times and would love to meet someday, such as Arfy (we've realized that we both went blind due to the same eye disease), Brandon (AKA Bmisch), Steff, Gracesong, Beattle Girl, Pretty D and a lot more. I wish we lived a bit closer to one another... lol

Dallas or Houston, they both have international airports. not sure if austin does. however if austin does that would be the best place nice transpertation. dallas is ok, but eesh, you don't really want to visit dallas it sucks! and I am 30 minutes from it.

A zoners' party would rock my socks! Either in LA or TX would be cool, though of course I'm partial to Miami. Lol wonder why? Now, who I'd want to meet, besides all of you? Takes deep breath, sorry if I forget anyone: of course daniel aka cantsee3p0, Angel power, fallen flower, zack who would be very amusing and entertaining not to mention potentially painful haha, john L, nehimiah, brandon K who I'm not sure wheterh he goes on here or not, um Caitlin H, heather.... gosh just everyone! As for zoners I've met, well I met JQ and of course I know yohandy aka musicman who never comes on here anyway lol. oh yeah and it would rock to meet crazy, and! well, memory's failing. peace!

Fine all. If you want to do this in Texas then you have to either buy me the ticket, or just hold the convension without me. Cause I can't afford the ticket either.

Post 85 by jessmonsilva (Taking over the boards, one topic at a time.) on Monday, 27-Mar-2006 10:06:25

Yes, it has to be in the US, as most of the zone is in the US!

Post 86 by jessmonsilva (Taking over the boards, one topic at a time.) on Monday, 27-Mar-2006 10:07:38

Most of us can't afford to go much further, maybe the UK if we really wanted to, but we will see, most people seem to want to have it in the states anyhow.

Post 87 by guitargod1 (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Monday, 27-Mar-2006 10:10:45

Oh will you stop bitching about flight prices please. If you book a flight a year in advance, or even six months sometimes, you get it for half price. I'm sure you could save up enough in six months to fly over. Or, if you don't make that much cash working, then ask for money for your birthday or other holiday type days... there are always solutions but complaining doesn't help solve a problem.

no no no! lets buy an oil platform, smack bang in the middle of the pond, am sure it won't cost much lol!!!lol.

ok seriously. yes i've been to the states twice in less than a year, it's possible to do it, hotels over here are dirt cheap, especially for us europiens, whether we are using the mighty pound or the euro, the $ is so devalued it makes very little difference no offence ment. i'd much rather come here, even with a flight. for example, i was just explaining this to shea or angel77, that the sort of hotels you get over here, the price of the room, you would end up paying 3 times as much in the UK! so basically a $60 room, for those who were at nfb last year at the galthouse hotel, a room like that in the UK would go for nearly a hundred pounds, at current exchange rates that is roughly $160 per night. you lot really want to pay that? it would be cheaper to fly here, get a hotel for a week don't come to the UK it's a rippoff zone.

Post 92 by guitargod1 (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Monday, 27-Mar-2006 18:56:16

Yeah, exactly. Last time I was in England, back in January, I ended up paying almost double for everything due to the bad exchange rate now that i am back to earning/spending US currency.

Post 93 by Pure love (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Tuesday, 28-Mar-2006 1:21:36

Post 94 by nikos (English words from a Greek thinking brain) on Tuesday, 28-Mar-2006 3:56:07

It's so funy how people from the USA want it to be only in the USA. It reminds me of the joke i posted in the jokes board ages ago.
A worldwide study has taken place, which asked the public the following
question:

Please tell us your opinion on the issue of the lack of sufficient food in the rest of the world.

There was no result to this study because:

In Africa nobody knew what the word "food" meant.

In Western Europe nobody understood the meaning of the phrase "lack of".

In Eastern Europe nobody knew what an "opinion" was.

In South America nobody could recognize the word "please".

And . In the USA no one knew what the phrase "rest of the world" referred to.
Sometimes people here make me believe this joke. They think only USA exist and not anything else. To prove that once in the suggestions board they said something like having a list of states to choose to find users and nobody said anything about countries.

Post 95 by nikos (English words from a Greek thinking brain) on Tuesday, 28-Mar-2006 4:18:39

For me it doesn't make any difference where is going to be i don't think i am going to attend anyway. If one day i want to meet with anyone i can arange with that person to meet.

Post 96 by Twinklestar09 (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Tuesday, 28-Mar-2006 4:25:03

I mentioned about the countries in that discussion actually. I figured it would be fairer to have countries listed instead of states. But yeah, I notice most people are saying about meeting in the States. Although I don't know about why only a couple of specific areas are being insisted on, I think it's that most of the Zoners are from the United States. I'm not saying the States is better or worse then any other place of course, but that's just my thoughts on why most Zoners think the States would be the best place to meet.

Post 97 by tara (the Zone BBS remains forever my home page) on Tuesday, 28-Mar-2006 8:39:19

yeah, and Nikos has a point. and actually, I wouldn't come to any zone convention, my life certainly does not revolve around people I've never even met in person.

Post 98 by guitargod1 (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Tuesday, 28-Mar-2006 9:04:10

I think something needs to be cleared up here. Keep in mind that at the moment, with US currency being so devalued, it'd be extremly cheap to do it here. so, from a practical standpoint, it makes sense. I mean I'd love to suggest everyone meeting up in somewhere like Rome, Athens, Moscow, Tokyo, or Venice but not many could afford such a journey. And all of that being said, this is only one point that would need to be addressed. many other things would have to be sorted out ligisticly speaking. I don't know if i'd go ahead with it but that's just me...

Post 99 by Blue Velvet (I've got the platinum golden silver bronze poster award.) on Tuesday, 28-Mar-2006 10:20:13

That Joke does make a good point Nikos. It certainly is showing up in the attitudes of the Americans who want the convention here. And I also would not bother coming even if it were held in my own state and city. There are a few people I would like to meet, but I would rather meet them individually. But that's just me. a

Post 100 by wildebrew (We promised the world we'd tame it, what were we hoping for?) on Tuesday, 28-Mar-2006 14:16:30

Hmm, I would attend if
a. The theoretical get-together were within easy reach for me, be it flying or driving (not that I would drive personally)! or
b. The convention were held at a nice/sunny beach somewhere.

Give me sand, ocean and cheap fruity frozen drinks and I'll meet pretty much anyone.
Meeting in Kansas e.g. just sounds boring (no offense to yea good Kansas people on here), TExas is questionable, for me it'd have to be a nice beach.
There are some of you I'd like to meet and no one I specifically do not want to meet, even if I do not promise to be super nice to all (there may be folks here I have particularly unfavorable opinions of).
Either wway, no popularity contest for me, I'll meed Jared and Dizzy Lizzy at a conference this summer and others when / if I meet them.
cheers

Ines, it will cost a lot more for the Aussies and New zealanders to go to this convention, just because we're further. but if you really save up, you should have the cash to do it.

Post 103 by guitargod1 (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Tuesday, 28-Mar-2006 16:12:19

Post 110 by SensuallyNaturallyLiving4Today (LivingLifeAndLovingItToo) on Friday, 31-Mar-2006 16:29:44

Well, all talk of a convention aside. Addressing the origional topic here, I'd love to meet LawLord and GuitarGod1. GuitarGod1, because he is a fellow musician, and would most likely appreciate an opera, a rock concert, a shakespeare play, and a comedy club, all in the same week of hanging out. I think we could have some very interesting debates regarding music theory, and I'd love to take him to Eastman and let him loose on some of the professors who are convinced that ethnomusicology is a waste of time, and that the rules derived from the common practice period are gospil to the exclusion of any other schools of thought. I'd love to meet LawLord also. He's intelligent, and has a great sense of humor. We would both appreciate some of the ethnic restaurants and I'm sure could find some great topics for over-dinner conversations. That and, I want to visit the UK, so much, and see the New Globe Theatre. YAY! New Globe, Long live the Bard of Stratford upon Avon. And maybe Ireish Boy also. I've always wanted to visit Ireland, and he is so nice, I'm sure he wouldn't think I was a complete and total freak, if Kait and I backpacked through Ireland, and showed up at his door one day, just to say hi, and beg a ride into the next town. Is there anyone on here from India? Kait is absolutely convinced that she has to go to India. She wants to practice Darshon, or however one spells it, and she would need to visit India to do that. Oh, and Field Hockey Sign Language. She's totally awsum, and she seems like a fun and great person to hang out with. Aw, me sad. I just realized that nobody put me on their lists.

Now then now then now then, I've not posted for a while so maybe this preamble is to get me back into the swing of the jolly old posting lark as it were....

You know, it may surprise some if not all of you if indeed you have read this far (And I would not blame you if you had not) that I would like to meet several amongst you. However, rather than release the list in full I shall do so in dribs and drabs so that I ensure that I don't forget anyone. The problem with doing it all at once is that you're more likely to forget someone. so: Ahafan, that other chap, that other chap as well, Sweet Serindipity, That other person whose name I cannot recall and in any event what does it matter if people keep chnging their usernames? KC8 whatever his name is....erm, this bloody country! It's all this port and whisky you know.....did you know I lost £26 on the Grand National today? Erm, Sugarbaby although she won't read this so that the bleedin' point of adding her to the list is I've no sodding idea, la musique du soir triste et belle, which incidentally is very good french grammar, the other lass whatever her name might be I'm sure she knows who she is, the two young Irish characters, that'll do for the moment mi' old sods.

Post 117 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Saturday, 08-Apr-2006 21:46:26

Bloody hell-fathers that was hard work.

Post 118 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Saturday, 08-Apr-2006 21:51:55

It's turned out to be ever such a long topic hasn't it? well the lawlord is back eith a vengence to the rough and tumle of the boards....wonder if I'll say the same thing when I'm not tipsy eh? Instantly, Cockburns reserve port is very fine indeed if you are a port connaisseur. It blends particularly well with cigars, for the classy smokers amongst you, and indeed pipes for the more eccentric. Do remember to have your smoking jackets dry-cleaned if possible, pipe-smokers and particularly blind pipe-smokers, as you've probably got it everywhere and your sighted colleagues if any are too embarrassed to point it out. And wipe that icing sugar out of your beard while you're at it it's been there two weeks! This bloody country eh? This bloody country! freya, that's another one, and young what's-her-name.

Post 119 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Saturday, 08-Apr-2006 21:56:45

And that other geezer...suzanne I think her name is although she's probably chaned it by now or somethin similar. what a gay day eh? I'm sure young goblin, the devil's advocate in corpore, would like to meet me to give me a jolly old slap, as would Yankee whatever his name is and subject to change, likewise Cantsee and the rest of the crew who enjoy their weekly lawlord-bashing but don't like to admit to it, and I must say that there is a certain curiosity in meeting them too. Maybe I could hire a mini-bus or a coach if the demand were ssufficient. And that's another thing: if Avian flu is such a worry, why hasn't anyone thought of making an Avian lemsip?

Post 120 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Saturday, 08-Apr-2006 21:58:17

Do bear in mind that if you will smoke with your port, it is important that you don't dip the cigar in the port as you would in something like, say, brandy.

Post 121 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Saturday, 08-Apr-2006 22:00:30

And I notice certain typos in my above contributions, although I'm not sure which one....Have I said catlover? Haven't spoken to her much but she seems a very nice lady from what I can discern. I must say that there are rather too many disappointments from a british point of view on here....Louise whatever she chooses to call herself, wouldn't say no to meting her either.

Post 122 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Saturday, 08-Apr-2006 22:01:50

And I'm very surprised but nonetheless pleased that the lawlord gets one mention on here at least....given the bad press that so often comes my way from a number of zoners, quite unintentionally I'm sure.

Post 123 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Saturday, 08-Apr-2006 22:03:29

Post 124 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Saturday, 08-Apr-2006 22:07:03

I should add, of course, that beginning so many sentences with 'And' as I havve done is not an example I would wish anyone to follow. lame it on the port of the Cockburns reserve variety. It is not how I choose to usually conduct the ordering of my vocabulary, and a jolly good thing too.

Post 125 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Saturday, 08-Apr-2006 22:09:19

blame was misspelt in the above post. What a gay day eh?

Post 126 by Blue Velvet (I've got the platinum golden silver bronze poster award.) on Sunday, 09-Apr-2006 2:18:49

I'm about to fall out of my chair laughing at your ramblings lawlord. BTW, I used to be cat lover until I changed my name, and I appreciate your naming me as someone you would like to meet because we've rarely chatted, and many people who talk to me almost daily did not name me. Of course that might have something to do with the fact that I refused to name people because I feel like this is a popularity contest and don't really like popularity contests. But anyway, thanks, and I would probably enjoy meeting you too, although I'm sure about 80% of what you say to me would go right over my head.

Post 127 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Sunday, 09-Apr-2006 7:33:00

No problem catlover or whatever your name is now....bloody usernames what's the sodding point of them anymore eh? I'm very surprised that my sentences were as coherent as they were at that hour last evening, especially as I awoke to find two empty bottles of port (Well obviously they wouldn't be empty bottles of port as that would be a complete non sequitur, so shall we say empty bottles that formerly contained port? a bit like the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens...not that he would contain port...he's a Muslim now isn't he? But I digress.) anyway I awoke to discover that we had got througgh two bottles of port, and considering there were only two of us that was a pretty splendid effort. Oh well, cheers.

Post 128 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Sunday, 09-Apr-2006 7:39:14

A message to you Americans: note how I use swearing in my hitherto posted contributions to this blasted topic. The problem with you lot is that you do not know how to swear in a dignified, artistic manner. aS a result you sound like recipients of anti-social behaviour orders (Oh of course you chaps wouldn't know what they are as we only have them over here). You know what's really silly about this topic? no, neither do I.

Post 129 by SensuallyNaturallyLiving4Today (LivingLifeAndLovingItToo) on Sunday, 09-Apr-2006 10:15:05

Ok, you just made my day, LawLord. My cat is a bit frightened though. I'd better go reassure him. He was happily purring away on mommy's lap, when "Mommy" began laughing quite a lot, and unceramoniously dumped him to the floor. I'm still giggling over here, and he is observing me with blatent reservations as to the state of my sanity, from the top of my armoir. Ah, I hate that word, giggling, that is. I just don't giggle. When adiquitly amused I laugh, and I have been known to chortle, especially when it is at the expense of a fellow artist, who has made a very public, but not injurious mishap, but I never giggle. I think I'll take a page from my friend Jeff's book. He once remarked on the obserdity of using lol, as we are not really laughing out loud, as the abbriviation would suggest, when we insert it into a quick note or private message. Further more, if one was really and truly rolling around on the carpet laughing, how on earth would they be able to sustain the coordination neccessary to type rofl into a message? He came up with a more apt abbriviation, CSTMS, chuckling softly to myself. I rather like it, and am trying to use it more frequently, and reserve lol for those times, such as now, where I actually do find my self laughing aloud. I don't think that I have ever seen someone so smashed make such insightful, amusing, and more importantly, cohearant comments. Bravo Signore. Oh yes, and YAY! Some one actually listed me. Me so very very happy. Now, I've got to go convince Polos that his beloved human is still of sound mind, before he calls the men with the white coats. AH! They're coming to take me away, ha ha, They're coming to take me away ha ha, ho ho, he he, to the funny farm where life is beautiful all the time, where birdies sing, and... Ok, I'm done now. CSTMS.

Post 134 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Sunday, 09-Apr-2006 18:01:31

Well now: Mel is someone I also forgot to mention in my contributions last evening although I wouldn't be put out by that to be honest ma chere, it was all a bit of a magical mystery tour comprising flowing prose without any real idea of where one was going. mel is the artist formerly known as galadrial I believe, although I presume her reference to a piss-up means that unlike that other chap, she has not yet converted to Islam....Now then Lawlord if you carry on like this you'll offend them all and have a fatwa issued against yourself. if I may be permitted for a moment to refer back to port, I believe I advised last night that one should not dip cigars in port as one wold in, say brandy. i'm bound to say that I find the latter practice somewhat anti-social too, albeit perhaps more acceptable. it's all this boozing at various conservative associations up and down the country over the past six years or so during which I have been a member of that fine party. Why was it, incidentally, that enfield North conservative Association didn't buy drinks for the Conservative Future activists, myself included, who spent saturday 30th April last traipsing around enfield North wooing the voters? If there is a zoner who could answer that question I'm sure I would like to meet you too, and with that I have cleverly brought the post back to the topic under discussion. Incidentally, Selfridges in Oxford Street, London, have started doing a new sandwich which is supposed to be the best sandwich in the world. It'll cost you £85. I might try some of that next time I am in the royal courts of justice. That won't be this week....this week I'm confined to the Oxford County Court.

Post 135 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Sunday, 09-Apr-2006 18:04:38

And wasn't David Cameron's speech to the Conservative spring forum excellent and right on the money? If he were a zoner, I'd like to meet him too. Similarly, if Judge John Deed were a zoner, I'd like to meet him too. Right enough of this jackanapery as some of us have lever arch files full of papers to read tomorrow plus consequential preparation arising out thereof.

Bloody hillarious rant by the Lord ot the Port, formerly known as LawLord. Seems like that bloody fine liquid functions excellently indeed to get that sodding lad "on-boards" so to speak.

Would like to meet....that was a show presented by silla Black wasn't it? hang on no that was Surprise surprise. would Like to Meet was on channel four or five I think. Anyway after meeting the Latvian lasses in riga over the weekend, I should like to meet any Latvian lasses who happen to be zoners. If they can tell me why the churchill Club in the old town part of Riga was shut, that's an added bonus. Dear me...what a sight for sore eyes eh? Very liberal with the extras over there they are.

Post 171 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Monday, 26-Jun-2006 16:38:34

AS the song by Black Lace goes, 'It's better when you're crowded, and when you're packed in tight.'

Post 172 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Tuesday, 27-Jun-2006 13:36:14

WE did do some fantastic bobsleigh in Riga as well by the way, along with shooting and quad-biking. Now, the only trouble with Riga is that the tap water is brown, and you get cheese and mayonnaise for breakfast. I'd like to meet the zoner who can tell me why that is. It's more than compensated for though by, as I've already mentioned, the ladies of Riga who are a credit to the farer sex...at least most of them seem to be. Out in the far-flung rural parts I'm not so sure that's the case.

Post 173 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Wednesday, 05-Jul-2006 16:18:23

we've gone ever so slightly off-topic here I fancy. What a gay day eh? Bloody portugal lookk at the sodfathers cheating away there! Mind you, the blasted French are no better. They either surrender or collaborate. If they played football like they fight wars, they'd still be playing against Brazil now wouldn't they? What a country eh? What a picture, what a picture, stick it in your family, album.

Post 174 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Friday, 07-Jul-2006 19:36:59

Now In america they just don't make songs like that: never in america would you find lyrics like 'Oh it really is a veyr pretty garden, and Chingford to the eastward could be seen, with a ladder and some glasses, you could see to Hackney Marches, if it wasn't for the 'ouses in between.' partly, I admit, because I'm sure that wheever one is in america one can neither see Hackney Marches nor Chingford, and certainly not to the east, but partly also because they lack the rich heritage and culture that permiates these islands we call the United Kingdom of great britain and northern Ireland, and of course they've no cockneys there either. so no 'My old man said follow the van, and don't dilly dally on the way', no 'Let's all go down the strand, 'ave a banana', no 'Any old iron, any old iron, any any any old iron? You look neat, talk about a treat, you look dapper from your napper to your feet', no 'We'll draink a-drink a-drink to Lilly the pink a-pink a-pink' oh no! Nno, they all think that Cockneys sound like Dick van dike with his 'It's a jolly 'oliday with Mary' and I can tell you, that's a bloody terrible cockney accent core blimey guvnor! crash bang wallop what a picture, crash bang wallop on the big bass drum, what a picture, what a picture, stick it in your family, album.

Post 175 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Friday, 07-Jul-2006 19:45:26

I should clarify before a bleedin' smart-arse does so for me: We'll drink a-drink a-drink to Lilly the Pink a-pink a-pink is not a song that originates from the land of cockneys i.e. east London. It's a drinking song that the lads sing....normally rugby playrrs, or students from Oxford or Cambridge, or our cricket team when we're rather merry. Cracking song though: we'll drink a-drink a-drink to Lilly the pink a-pink a-pink the saviour of, the human race, for she invented, medicinal compound, most efficacious, in every case.

Post 176 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Friday, 07-Jul-2006 19:46:59

Jennnifer Eckles, had terrible freckles, and all the boys would call her names, but she changed with, medicinal compount, and now he joins in all their games.

Post 177 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Monday, 14-Aug-2006 16:37:25

Mr brears, had sticky out ears, and they made him awfully shy, so they gave him, medicinal compound, and now he's learning how to fly.

Post 178 by Caitlin (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Tuesday, 15-Aug-2006 23:59:18

Too many. I'd like to list them all but I can't because I'd forget people. But thanks to everyone who lsited me, and I'd love to meet you all too. Lol.

Post 179 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Sunday, 27-Aug-2006 17:40:48

I'm sorry Caitlin but what a bleedin' pointless reply that was. One might say a pointlesss reply for a pointless website, and indeed that would be a very succinct summary of the state of things. This topic, and indeed much of this website, is rapidly losing its raison d'etre, n'est-ce pas? caitlin obviously didn't read all about Lilly the Pink, or the selected parts of crash Bang Wallop What a Picture to which I have treated this topic.

Post 180 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Sunday, 27-Aug-2006 17:44:45

And here's another puzzling thing: back in the 1880s there was a musical made about London, and in it was a homeless person called Berlington Berty. Now, his song went thus: 'I'm berlington berty, I rise at 10:30, and saunter along like a toff. I walk down the Strand with my gloves on my hands, and walk up again with them off.' now, were homeless people different then? I mean, very different? because, think about it, you wouldn't get that now, would you? oh no! Nowadays it would be 'I'm Berlington Berty, I rise at 10:30, and piss up the wall of a bank. I walk down the Strand with a bottle in my hand, you're lucky if I don't have a....' well, you get the idea!

Post 181 by Blue Velvet (I've got the platinum golden silver bronze poster award.) on Saturday, 02-Sep-2006 12:36:50

Okay, we might not have songs like that here in this country that fought its way out of the clutches of good ole King George more than 200 years ago, but we do have songs like "I'm my own grandpa." LOL

Post 182 by lawlord (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Tuesday, 05-Sep-2006 18:03:46

we were all glad to get shot of you lot back in 1776 don't worry. More trouble than you're bleedin' worth, and you can't even make a cup of tea.
